About the site
The well-maintained meadow, exclusively for one camper, is part of the grounds of our house (a former forester's lodge), covers over 500 square meters, and is mowed weekly. Located on the outskirts of Engen (Konstanz district), just 1 km from the town center, it offers a unique view of Engen and the Hohenhewen mountain. The parking area has been paved for over 30 meters since 2023, making it easily accessible year-round (see recent photos). Converted coaches, however, may encounter limitations due to their size. Lake Constance is a 15-20 minute drive away, and the train (Regional Express or Seehas) takes only slightly longer (Radolfzell to Engen from 19 minutes). The Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen can be reached by car in just under 30 minutes. A short hike to the Engen Ice Age Park or the new premium hiking trail "Hegau Volcano Tour" can be started directly from the site. You can also start your cycling adventure right here, for example, towards Lake Constance on quiet country lanes through beautiful countryside. The train connection mentioned earlier is a great alternative for the return journey. The Engen adventure pool is just a 5-minute bike ride away. Despite our secluded location, there are plenty of shopping options nearby (farm shop 400m, supermarkets 1-2km). Our own fire pit by the house, complete with a swivel grill or just the fire bowl, is available for free use, including wood. Wi-Fi is free. We can fill up your bottled drinking water. Outside, you have access to our rainwater cistern via a hose. There is no toilet or shower on site. Both are available for a fee at the Hegau West rest area, 400m away. Electric cars can be charged during the day at our wallbox in the carport for a small fee of €0.40/kWh. A 230V outdoor socket in the carport can be used for €4 per day.

Der Platz ist wunderschön gelegen, große Wiese angenzend Felder und schöner Blick auf die Stadt, die selbst auch schon eine Reise wert ist. Sehr schöne Radl Möglichkeiten nach Singen und nach Radolfzell mit guten Radwegen. Die Vermieter waren freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit, als wir ankamen, stand schon der Strom bereit. Das Einzige was einen Punktabzug gibt, dass wir doch die nahe Autobahn oft gehört haben, manchmal komischerweise auch gar nichts, aber besonders nachts war es für uns zu laut.
Super Gastgeber, toller Platz. Ein Ort um wiederzukommen . Vielen Dank für Alles.
