The Secret Garden from €24.70 per night

Welcome to La Villeneuve! Your pitch is located on one of the hills amidst the countryside of southern Burgundy, surrounded by forests, hills, and fields, about 45 minutes from the A6 (Autoroute du Solail) in Chalon-sur-Saône. Four pitches are located in the orchard of a former vineyard (8,000 m²) with a manor house, outbuildings, garden, and park, separated from each other by fruit trees. Each pitch offers plenty of private space. The entire property is surrounded by a wall. Motorcyclists, families with children, hikers, and cyclists are all welcome. Due to some very bad experiences, which have cost the lives of some of our animals and injured others, we have decided, with a heavy heart, to no longer accept guest dogs. Various benches, table groups, and other resting areas, especially in the park, invite you to linger. Enjoy the beautiful view and meet our numerous free-roaming animals. Whether it's the domestic animals like dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks, and a donkey, small wild animals and birds, or our only neighbors, the Charolais cattle, each one will curiously observe you. Here, you can expect plenty of nature, peace and relaxation, and direct contact with the land and its people. Electrical hookups are available for camper vans. Drinking water is also provided. An outbuilding houses a toilet, a shower, a lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen with hotplates, a microwave, a kettle, a coffee machine, a large refrigerator and freezer, dishes, cutlery, pots, and more. A wastewater disposal site is located about 10 minutes away and is easily accessible. On request, we are happy to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cake, or packed lunches. There are many hiking trails, cycle paths, markets, and festivals in this area. Activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, boat trips, covered wagon rides, carting, etc. are also possible. Not far away are theme parks, a zoo, a thermal bath, castles, archaeological sites (e.g., Bibracte), pilgrimage sites (Paray-Le-Monial, Cluny), a Buddhist temple, geological features, museums, cultural institutions, restaurants, shops, etc. Excursions to Lyon (approx. 1.5 hours), Guédelon Castle (approx. 2.5 hours), Lake Geneva (approx. 2.5 hours), Vezelay (approx. 2 hours), or the Burgundy wine region (approx. 1 hour) are also possible. Even Paris can be reached in 4 hours. Upon request, we are happy to serve as your personal tour guide for some of the sights.
